Mattu University proudly hosted its prestigious second international research conference from February 7-8, 2026, centered on the visionary grand theme: "Integrating Innovation and Sustainability: Advancing Ecological, Health, and Food Security for Societal Resilience." This landmark event underscored the University's unwavering commitment to pioneering research that drives societal progress, convening global scholars and innovators under one roof.

The proceedings commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Assistant Professor John Tesfaye, Vice President for Administrative and Development and esteemed delegate of the President. Dr. Bedilu Teka, Vice President for Academic, Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Engagement, delivered the formal opening speech, igniting intellectual discourse. Elevating the conference were four world-class keynote presentations: Professor Daniel Chigudu from the University of South Africa on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications in Ecology and Food Security"; Dr. Nikodemus Solitander from the Centre for Corporate Responsibility Research Institute in Helsinki, Finland, on "Green Economy for Sustainable Development"; Professor Sultan Suleiman from Jimma University, Ethiopia, on the "One Health Approach/Nexus"; and Dr. Dirriba Diba from Wallaga University, Ethiopia, on "Climate-Smart Agriculture."

In four dynamic parallel sessions, 36 meticulously selected research papers—each aligned with the conference theme—were presented, sparking profound exchanges of knowledge, experiences, and networking opportunities.
