A two-day Training for Trainers workshop was held on March 26-27, 2016, for selected teachers and researchers from Mattu University's various colleges. The program was facilitated by experts from Ethio Jobs and organized by the Academic Program Directorate and the Centre for Employability and Entrepreneurs Development (CEED).
In his opening remarks, Dr. Bedilu Teka, Vice President for Academics, Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Service, underscored the Job Fair's vital role in linking university graduates with employers. He stressed that today's graduates must emerge not only with degrees but also with the skills to demonstrate their competencies, secure industry positions, or launch their own ventures.
The training was led by Ethio Jobs experts Mr. Demissie Amsalu and Mr. Mikael Ayinalem. Key topics included:
*Concepts in job fair management and career readiness.
*Processes and principles for hosting job fairs for graduates.
*Key challenges and practical solutions.
At the conclusion, participants received certificates from Dr. Diriba Gemechu, Director of the Academic Directorate. These certify their completion of the training and qualify them to train fellow teachers and graduate students in job fair management and career readiness.
