Technology Transfer and Community Engagement Directorate

Technology Transfer and Community Engagement Directorate

Mattu University was established as one of the third-generation public institutions of higher education in Ethiopia with the primary mandate of delivering quality education, providing problem-solving services, and supporting the community through multi-dimensional engagements. Among these, community engagement and technology transfer are central pillars, encompassing educational, cultural, economic, environmental, and social activities that directly address community needs.

The University recognizes community engagement as a key responsibility sharing expertise with the community, transferring appropriate technologies, and implementing projects that contribute to solving societal problems. This aligns with the Ethiopian government’s priority of enhancing teaching, learning, and community engagement in higher education institutions, as mandated in the Higher Education Proclamation No. 1152/2019.

Accordingly, the Technology Transfer and Community Engagement Directorate (TTCE) was established under the Office of the Vice President for Academic, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Engagement (VPARTTC/Engagement).
