Background of the office

Mattu University, one of the higher education institutions in our country, was established in 2011, and has been carrying out teaching learning, problem-solving research and community service activities in an integrated manner. As per the proclamation 1152/2019 article 64 of higher education institutes, in addition to achieving their prior missions, universities are expected to develop resources that enable them to generate income. 

Accordingly, the then revenue generations directorate was formulated by the Ministry of public service in 2015. Recently the directorate has been reorganized as Resources Development and Revenue Generations Activities Executive office by the same authority.

Resources Development and Revenue Generations Activities Executive office is entitled to undertake projects that boost income of our university. To boost income, the office has been dealing with multiple activities given its triple responsibility of enabling the university to become economically autonomous. It requires being keen enough to shoulder these activities in the first place. Accordingly, the office has been striving to realize the projects and activities mentioned below. So, as a lucky and responsible manager, let me use this golden opportunity to call up on the entire community of the university, stakeholders and others in the country and abroad to cooperate and collaborate with us in realizing mission and vision of our university.

Office Structure

The office is comprised of an executive manager and one team. Under the team leader are two experts, one marketing and three sales personnel and a secretary. Our office, undertakes agricultural activities on various research sites, and as a result engage into activities, and monitors research site workers. 

 Office Activities

The higher institutions proclamation 1152/2019(1-8) assures universities of the country to engage themselves in revenue generation activities there by facilitating the journey of becoming autonomous. The ultimate goal of the office has been enabling our university to become economically autonomous. Based on this ultimate goal, the office has envisioned a number of projects that are helpful to facilitate the resources development activities. Agricultural development work, Hotel and Tourism, Health and health related activities, Garage and gas station operation, training and consulting, Supply (of bread, bread, meat) are few among these projects.

The previous years witness our progressive efforts of supplying different products and services to our university and nearby community. Poultry products, dairy products, cereal crops, spices, fruits and vegetables are among these. The new management of our university has scrutinized the past success and failure and put immense direction to diversify and increase the quality of the products and services that our office supplies.  Our current status and preparation will surely enable us to supply these products widely and increase the amount of income.

To realize these projects the link and partnership between our office and the research directorate surely play vital role and we are doing on it. In addition, we are searching for further strategic partnership and collaboration with other stakeholders, investors and organizations.
